Uncle Steve had told Dig that he had been shopping on eBay for some Star Wars things and for a few days straight the FedEx guy would drop off packages and boxes. Dig patiently waited to open them until Steve could go through the finds with him and explain who/what they were along with figures Steve had growing up. The kids had so much fun helping open and go through the boxes and bubble wrap. Can you tell Uncle Steve goes a little over board!?

Saturday evening after the Star Wars toys were opened, Mom grilled up some wonderful Balvanz Cattle T-Bones and caught up with our Californians.
Sunday, we had Grandma Mary over and enjoyed a big dinner then Steve, Ryan and Dig played some baseball.
Of course, a trip back to Iowa wouldn't be complete without the dreaded hay making. I guess that's not really the worst part...it's stacking the hay in the barn that is dreaded the most. So, all of the boys took off to unload a few racks of hay while us girls and Dig enjoyed the air-conditioning. =) That evening we had a Wii Bowling 'Tournament.' We even taught Grandma Mary how to play. It was fun...and funny!
One of the games consisted of Ryan, Steve Jr., Shawn and Dig. The boys were playing for real, they were not going to let Dig win, just because he was the youngest. But...he did just that. He beat the big boys fair and square...by a lot!

Lisa and KK were so great with the kids. The girls put several puzzles together with DD and Lisa worked with Drue on some math problems, something that has become one of Drue's favorite things to do with her. The kids have already planned out which puzzles we'll be taking to Texas in July for the girls to help them with!
Monday we went to my aunt Cindy's & uncle Randy's for lunch and got to spend time with Grandma & Grandpa Larson, too.
Dig was glad that DD was still in school, as he got to spend all of Tuesday by himself with Lisa at Nanny's. He made her play the new Star Wars Lego Wii game that Steve & Lisa brought for him and would sing, "Lisa wants to be a chicken, Lisa wants to be a duck!" in the tune of the "Chicken Dance." He thought it was hilarious and I catch him singing it daily. What a silly guy.
Tuesday night we went to Grandma Mary's and made s'mores. It was raining, but we lit up her firepit and put it in the driveway while we all stayed nice and dry in her garage. It worked perfectly and was almost more fun, because of the thunder and lightning!
Steve and Lisa had to take off for the airport around noon on Wednesday. It was a long weekend that felt very short. We miss them so much and always get so excited when they come home. It just seems there is never enough time. But...we're counting down the days until we see them in the Big-D! Only 44!!
